Your Senses

For today’s exercise, try to focus on the wonders of your five senses as you use them throughout the day. (Touch, Smell, Taste, Hearing, and Sight) For example, turn on your favourite tune and take the time to listen. Ask yourself, what would my life be like if I never heard this song? Why do I love this song so much? What does that say about me?

When you focus on your senses and savour the moment, you learn a lot about yourself. What is your favourite scent? Does it make you nostalgic and/or happy? Look for the little wonders in life, like the animals in your day to day life- the squirrels, the birds and the bees.

Stop and smell the roses, or the herbs while you’re cooking, or your morning cup of coffee. If you’re washing the dishes, scoop your hands in the soapy water and feel the sensation of the bubbles on your skin. Yes, the world is truly a wonder when you experience it through your senses.
