Write a Grateful List
Think and write down ten things you are grateful for. Start your sentence with “I am grateful for…” Do your best to make a top ten list. However, if you are unable to think about ten items, drop your list down to five.
All of us have received something that we didn’t work for. For example, our breath, our physical abilities, and our family. Think deeply about what you received in your life that came naturally or without much effort. Perhaps it’s a skill, a loved one, or a gift.
Focusing on this list will help us to enjoy these things. For example, Warren Buffet recognized that he won the ‘ovarian lottery.’ This is a simple recognition that he was born in a place where the hardships are less than in other places.
