Talk to a Neighbor

On this day, we focus on building the community. What makes a neighbourhood safe? Is it the houses, the clean streets, or the people? Most likely you would agree that it’s the spirit of the people that makes a neighbourhood. Start building your community by communicating. Get to know your neighbours and greet them by name. Visit local businesses and chat with the owners. These are small things we all can do to build our community.

Next to the family unit, a strong community is necessary for individuals to feel secure. A safe neighbourhood is made up of caring and cooperative folks.

If you have a dog, take the opportunity to chat to fellow dog owners. If you have children, get to know the parents at the playground. We all can do our part to build community.

Without a sense of caring, there can be no sense of community.”
